Such an easy story to read. This book also made it easy to ignore my guests in favor of being engrossed in its world. Damen is such a dashing prince in a terrible circumstance and Laurent is so icy and terrible, it's quite simple to hate him. And yet, I couldn't bring myself to do so.

There is incredible tension between Damen and Laurent. Nothing happens between them. It's truly a slow burn but I'm thinking that the payoff will be worth it. I'm hoping it is anyway that way I can forgive the author for that cliffhanger. Jeez. Talk about leaving me asking for more.
